White Dew(Chinese language:Bailu)
Bailu is the 15th solar term in the “24 solar terms“, the third solar term in autumn, the end of the Shenyue period in the Ganzhi calendar and the beginning of the Youyue period. On Douzhigui, the sun reaches 165 degrees yellow longitude and intersects on September 7-8-9 in the Gregorian calendar It is an important solar term that reflects the growth of cold air in nature. Although the weather gradually cools down, there is still strong sunlight during the noon period of the day. High temperature weather is also quite hot, but in the evening, the temperature drops quickly. The characteristic of this period of weather is the large temperature difference between day and night
During the White Dew solar term, the warm and humid southeast monsoon was gradually replaced by the dry and cold northern gusts. The heat gradually dissipated, and the autumn was clear and the fragrance of osmanthus was fragrant. Migratory birds such as geese and swallows began to fly south to avoid the cold. Various birds began to store food for the winter. In addition, as the direct sunlight moved south, the duration of sunlight in the northern hemisphere became shorter, the intensity of light decreased, and the ground radiation and heat dissipation became faster, So the rate of temperature decrease gradually accelerated. Bai Lu basically ended the stuffy heat of the summer day, and the weather gradually turned cooler, causing cold dew to condense. The ancients used the four seasons to match the five elements, and autumn belonged to gold, with gold and white. White was used to describe autumn dew, hence the name “Bai Lu
The ancient Chinese people, based on their observation of nature, Divide Bailu into three seasons:“The first season is when the geese come, the second season is when the black birds return, and the third season is when the flocks of birds are raised in shame.“ This means that during this solar term, migratory birds such as the geese and swallows fly south to avoid the cold, and hundreds of birds begin to store dried fruits and grains for winter. At this time, farmers are also busy harvesting crops, as the saying goes,“Seize autumn, or throw away if you don't grab it.“ During the Bailu period, local customs mainly include worshiping the Great Yu, brewing grain wine, and drinking Bailu tea
Bailu is the beginning of the unitary month in the Ganzhi calendar, and the establishment of the 24 solar terms and December is the basic content of the Ganzhi calendar. In ancient times, the lunar calendar was calculated based on the operation of the Big Dipper, The star referred to by the Dou handle is called “Doujian“(also known as “Yuejian“). As recorded in the “Huainanzi Astronomical Training“,“Emperor Zhang Siwei used it to Dou, and the moon moved one hour to return to its place. The first month refers to Yin, and the twelfth month refers to Ugly, turning one year and turning one year, and then starting again.“ Here,“Dou“ refers to the handle of the Big Dipper Seven Stars. The rotation of the Dou handle clockwise once is a cycle, which is one of the “years“(photo).“Twelve month construction“ is based on the “24 solar terms“ The division of the solar terms and months that come from “Twelve Month Construction“ is based on the seasons, namely, the beginning of spring, the awakening of insects, the Qingming Festival, the beginning of summer, the awn seed, the small summer, the beginning of autumn, the white dew, the cold dew, the beginning of winter, the heavy snow, and the small cold, respectively, as the Yin (photo) month, the Mao (single) month, the Chen (Zhi Xu) month, the Si (Da Huang Luo) month, the Wu (Dun Zang) month, the Wei (Xie Qi) month, the Shen (Shen Tan) month, the You (Zuo Og) month, the Xu (eunuch) month, and the Hai (Da Yuan Xian) month. Zi (trapped) Yue, Chou At the beginning of the moon
Bailu is the end of Shenyue in the Ganzhi calendar and the beginning of Youyue in the Gregorian calendar. The time point is from September 7th to 9th every year, when the sun reaches 165 degrees yellow longitude
According to the text of the “Explanation of the Seventy Two Seasons of the Moon Order“: Bai Lu, on the eighth month of the lunar calendar, belongs to the golden and white autumn season. Yin Qi gradually increases, and the dew condenses and becomes white. When the wild geese come, the big geese are small, and they come from the north to the south. It is not called Nanxiang, nor their dwelling place. For more information, please refer to the Rainwater Festival. The Yuanniao returns, and the Yuanniao, Xie sees before. At this time, they go from the south to the north. Yan is a bird from the north, so it is called Gui. A group of birds raises shame
